As you can see from the photo's above, the snow is quickly melting. These were taken about an hour and a half apart. Still a lot of snow out there, but based on how we are melting today I would think we could potentially open tomorrow afternoon or mid-day on Thursday. We will keep you posted.

Long Range Weather Forecast
After our first measurable snow of the year, around 2" for those of you keeping track, it's starting to feel more like winter in Wichita. The question is, will it last and how will it impact our area?
I read an interesting article this morning on 2012 global weather trends that will affect U.S. weather conditions. For the past two years, we have been in a La Nina cycle. Ultimately, this is what leads to the drier, warmer conditions we have experienced over this time frame.
What's interesting is the prediction of the late winter moving into early spring. Colder temps, with normal precipitation, are predicted through March and possibly into April. The good news is as the La Nina pattern weakens we should see a cooler summer (compared to last year) along with more normal precipitation.
Aside from winter in March, the long range forecast doesn't look too bad!
